Invisalign Open Week
29 June – 3 July 2026
This event has concluded. The dates above have passed and the associated offer closed to new contracts after 17 July 2026. The record is kept here because the terms are worth reading in full, and because the standing complimentary orthodontic consultation remains available year-round — see Complimentary Orthodontic Consultation.
To arrange a consultation now, phone 13 13 96, or use the details on Contact Us.
What Open Week offered
A free consultation valued at $300, including:
- iTero 3D digital scan — see Technology
- Invisalign alignment simulation — see Invisalign® No Braces
- OPG and lateral cephalometric radiographs, if required
- A one-on-one appointment with the treating clinician, a dentist or registered specialist
- Time to ask questions
Plus refreshments and a take-home bag.
The offer attached to it:
- $1,000 off Invisalign treatment
- Free take-home whitening — see Teeth Whitening
- $500 in Smile Dollars for treatment paid in full
Full terms and conditions, as published
These are reproduced in full because the exclusions were the substance of the offer.
- Offer valid for patients who attended the Invisalign open day and signed their contract on or before 17 July 2026.
- Patients had to quote ‘OPENDAY’ by phone or at their consultation to claim.
- $1,000 saving applied to Invisalign Comprehensive, Moderate and Lite packages. Express packages were not eligible. What separates those tiers is set out in Invisalign Cost in Melbourne: A Complete Breakdown by Treatment Type.
- Final treatment costs depend on the personalised treatment plan following clinical assessment, and are determined by the complexity of the condition, required treatment time, materials used and other clinical factors. Indicative ranges are published on the Price Guide.
- All fees quoted are prior to any health fund rebates and do not include preferred provider schemes, which must be quoted separately.
- Cost estimates exclude additional treatment identified during the diagnostic or treatment process — including restorative treatment, additional orthodontic requirements, or other clinical findings. Any such changes are discussed and quoted before treatment commences — the process is described in Understanding Your Treatment.
- Not valid for patients already in treatment, or who had signed a treatment plan with Smile Solutions, Collins Street Orthodontics or WHITE Clinics.
- Payment plans are offered through third-party providers, subject to their eligibility criteria and terms. Additional fees may apply. See Payment Plans.
- The treating clinician determines the appropriate course of treatment based on orthodontic history, current dental condition and outcome expectations. Where the clinician determined that fixed braces were more suitable, a $500 reduction applied, with $250 in Smile Dollars when paying in full.
- All procedures carry risks and limitations, and outcomes vary between patients. Patients are encouraged to seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified dentist or registered specialist orthodontist before proceeding.
- Treatment is provided only where it is determined at consultation to be clinically indicated and of benefit to the patient. Smile Solutions and Collins Street Orthodontics do not encourage or engage in the indiscriminate or unnecessary use of health services.
- Any further discount is at the discretion of the treating provider.
Why those last two clauses matter more than the discount
They are not boilerplate. They are the specific requirements that section 133 of the National Law places on advertising by registered health practitioners, which prohibits advertising that:
- encourages the indiscriminate or unnecessary use of health services;
- creates an unreasonable expectation of beneficial treatment;
- offers a gift, discount or other inducement without stating its terms and conditions; or
- is false, misleading or deceptive, including by omission.
The clause about fixed braces is the one worth noticing. It says the clinician decides the appliance on clinical grounds — and that a patient steered away from the advertised product still receives a benefit. That structure exists so the discount cannot bias the clinical decision toward aligners, and the trade-offs between the appliances are weighed in How do I know which orthodontic treatment is best for me?. That is the right way to build an orthodontic offer, and it is not universal.
How to evaluate any limited-time dental offer
This is the part of the page with lasting use. Seven questions:
1. Does the deadline apply to the consultation, or to signing a contract? These are very different. A deadline on the consultation is a scheduling constraint. A deadline on signing is time pressure on a clinical decision, and it deserves scrutiny.
2. Which product tiers are excluded? Aligner treatment is sold in tiers by number of aligners. Discounts routinely exclude the cheapest tier, which is the one many simple cases actually need. If the cheapest tier suits your case, the offer may be worth nothing to you — and that is not a reason to buy a bigger tier. The same tiering question applies to fixed appliances; see What is the cost of braces?.
3. Is the quote before or after health fund rebates? Before, almost always. Ask what the real out-of-pocket figure is.
4. Does it stack with preferred provider arrangements? Usually not. See Bupa Platinum Dental Provider.
5. What is excluded from the estimate? Restorative work found during assessment is the usual one. You cannot straighten teeth through untreated decay or active gum disease; that work comes first — fillings and gum treatment are quoted separately, and a hygiene appointment is usually where the gum problem is picked up.
6. What are ‘credits’ or ‘dollars’ actually worth? Practice credit is spendable only at that practice, usually on elective treatment. It is a discount on future purchases, not money, and it should be valued accordingly.
7. Would you want this treatment at full price? The only question that matters. A discount on treatment you do not need is not a saving. A dental decision does not expire, and any practice worth attending will tell you the same.
What the regulator actually requires of an offer
Those seven questions are not just consumer instinct. AHPRA's Guidelines for advertising a regulated health service set out, under section 133(1)(b), what an advertised gift, discount or inducement must do — and the list reads almost as a checklist for the questions above. Advertising may breach the National Law:
- where the terms and conditions are missing, or where they could be misleading. They must be in plain language.
- where it "excludes reference to any existing restrictions or limitation, such as age, expiry date, geographical or restrictions on who is eligible for the offer" — which is exactly why the excluded Express tier and the 17 July closing date belong in the terms above rather than in fine print.
- where it states an instalment amount without stating the total cost, because the total is itself a condition of the offer. If you are shown a weekly or fortnightly figure, ask for the total.
- where an offer described as free is not free: the guidelines note that the public generally take "free" to mean absolutely free, and "when the costs of a ‘free offer’ are recouped through a price rise elsewhere or through other sources such as Medicare, the offer is not actually free."
- where it contains price information that is unclear, inexact or vague.
The guidelines also say terms must be easily found and accessible, and that "the public should not be required to exhaustively search for or contact the advertiser for terms and conditions." If you cannot find the conditions of an offer without ringing up and asking, that is itself a signal.
What aligner treatment actually asks of you
Separate from any offer, it is worth knowing what you would be agreeing to. The Australian Dental Association's consumer guidance on teeth straightening is blunt about the day-to-day reality:
- Clear aligners are custom-made thin plastic trays worn over the teeth, and the ADA states the trays "should be worn at all times other than when eating and drinking liquids other than water." That is a genuine lifestyle change, and it is the single biggest predictor of how the treatment goes.
- Do not drink anything but water while they are in. Drinking fruit juice or soft drink in aligners traps the liquid against the teeth, which can damage them if it happens frequently. The hygiene trade-offs are set out in What are the hygiene benefits of Invisalign? and How to protect your aligners and your smile.
- They are clear, but the ADA is explicit that they are not invisible. Whether they suit your case is a clinical judgement, not a preference — the comparison with fixed and lingual appliances is in Conventional braces vs lingual braces vs Invisalign.
- Clean the aligners when you clean your teeth, ideally twice a day. The ADA suggests an antibacterial liquid soap and a spare toothbrush, rinsed well afterwards with warm water. Teeth are brushed and flossed as normal.
Orthodontics is also about the bite, not only the appearance. The ADA notes that orthodontic treatment can correct a poor biting pattern, assist with sleep apnoea, and prevent uneven wear of the teeth — which is part of why an assessment is a clinical appointment rather than a styling consultation. (Source: Australian Dental Association, Teeth straightening and braces, teeth.org.au.)
If the person you are considering treatment for is a child, the ADA reports that the Australian Society of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic assessment between the ages of 7 and 10, and that all the adult teeth do not need to be present for an assessment to be done. See When should I take my child to see an orthodontist? and Children's Dentistry.
One thing no offer should ever tempt you into
The ADA does not recommend that Australians have DIY or direct-to-consumer orthodontic treatment — the mail-order arrangements that supply aligners without an in-person examination. The ADA's stated position is that "there are many risks to this treatment. They can lead to permanent damage to your teeth, gums, and jaw joints," and that treatment should instead be delivered in person by a dentist or orthodontist, with a thorough assessment before starting and ongoing supervision throughout.
That is the real comparison for a price-driven decision. A discounted supervised treatment and an unsupervised cheap one are not two points on the same scale. Who provides the care matters as much as what it costs — see Specialist Orthodontist vs General Dentist: Which Is Best for Invisalign? and Orthodontic treatment: general dentist vs specialist orthodontist?.
Common questions
Is Invisalign Open Week still running?
No. The page records a past offer and states that it has closed. Do not assume that its discount, inclusions or dates remain available. Confirm any current offer and its complete terms directly with the practice.
Is there still a complimentary orthodontic consultation?
The page states that a year-round 60-minute consultation is available with a $50 refundable deposit. Confirm what it includes and whether scans, radiographs or other records are separate before booking.
Does an offer determine whether aligners are suitable for me?
No. Suitability depends on examination, oral health, diagnosis, records and the movements required. A discount or deadline should never replace that assessment or pressure you into elective treatment.
Who provides the orthodontic treatment?
The page states that treatment is delivered by a registered specialist orthodontist. You can verify specialist registration on the AHPRA public register.
Are mail-order or direct-to-consumer aligners equivalent?
No. The page cites the Australian Dental Association's warning about aligners supplied without an in-person examination and ongoing supervision. Tooth movement can damage teeth, gums or jaw joints when diagnosis and monitoring are inadequate.
How long will aligner treatment take?
The offer date does not determine treatment duration. Complexity, biological response, daily aligner wear, refinements, oral health and missed appointments all affect timing. Ask for a realistic range after full records are reviewed.
What to do instead, now
The complimentary orthodontic consultation runs year-round — a 60-minute discussion of options, pricing and payment plans, with a $50 refundable deposit. Treatment is delivered by a registered specialist orthodontist. Confirm the current terms when you book — what the appointment includes, whether records such as scans or radiographs are part of it or charged separately, and whether any deposit applies. Full detail, including what aligners can and cannot do, at Complimentary Orthodontic Consultation.
How long the treatment itself is likely to take is a separate question from how quickly you book it — How long does it take to have orthodontic treatment?.
